I. Product Overview
The CF-III/CF-IIIG repeater magnetic compass is a navigational instrument that displays the heading indicated by the standard magnetic compass and must be used in conjunction with a magnetic compass. It can transmit the ship’s heading—as indicated by the standard magnetic compass—to any location on board where a magnetic compass would otherwise be unsuitable or impractical to install. It can also interface with other navigation instruments that require the ship’s magnetic heading information, such as steering gear, satellite navigators, and radar systems. The repeater magnetic compass features both magnetic heading display and transmission capabilities. On medium- and large-sized vessels equipped with electric compasses, the repeater magnetic compass can also serve as a backup system for the electric compass.
II. Main Features
The electrical components of the CF-III/CF-IIIG repeater magnetic compass consist of integrated circuits and contactless switch circuits, ensuring reliable operation and a long service life.
The technical performance indicators of the CF-III/CF-IIIG repeater magnetic compass comply with the provisions of the enterprise standard Q/UCAH31-1998, "CF-type Marine Repeater Magnetic Compass."
